Charlie Lavaroni was born and raised in San Francisco, California. He is a true believer that theater can change lives for the better, bridge communities, and heal. Charlie plans on continuing his passion for teaching, acting, and literature through the lenses of teaching, acting, and public service.
He attended high school at the Drew School where he was heavily involved in the theater department. At Drew, Charlie played an intergal part in many theatrical prodcutions including fall plays, spring musicals, the Fringe Festival, and winter and spring concerts. Charlie is also the founder of the Drama Club on campus.
He currently attends the University of California, Davis where is pursuing a double Beachelor of Arts degree in English and Theater. At Davis, Charlie continues his love of the performing arts by acting in mainstage and student produced productions (including Studio 301 and Millennial Theater). He has also served as an Assistant Stage Manager (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike), Dramaturg (The Bluest Eye) and an Assistant Director (The 39 Steps) at Davis.
In the fall of 2017, Charlie became an inaugural acting company member and an administrative assistant for the new works festvial at Davis: Ground and Field Theater. Charlie will continue this work in fall of 2018 as actor and assistant director for Daisy Violet the Bitch Beast King.
Charlie is a trained theatrical actor and singer, with a strong tenor range and belt, and is also trained in Cuban salsa rueda. He has also performed with his high school's advanced salsa rueda group at San Francisco's 2014 Carnaval.
